Day 9 Devotion
Day 9 Devotion
Day 9: Obedience
Scripture:
“But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love Him. That is how we know we are living in Him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.” 1 John 2:5
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, strengthen and lead the school communities and us into the place You have called us to. Help us put aside doubt and do things our own way. We know that it is only through obedience to You that we can please You and have peace in our heart. Help us work confidently in Your strength as we tackle challenges in our schools. Help us trust and obey You in all that we do. We ask all these things in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Decree:
Today we decree that everyone in schools, including ourselves will obey God’s Word and trust Him with all of our hearts and not lean on our own understanding.
5 Promises:
“But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.” 1 John 2:5
“He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke 11:28
“The Israelites had moved about in the wilderness forty years until all the men who were of military age when they left Egypt had died, since they had not obeyed the LORD. For the LORD had sworn to them that they would not see the land He had solemnly promised their ancestors to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.” Joshua 5:6
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5
“If you love me, keep my commands.” John 14:15
Application:
Take a moment to look up the Ten Commandments. Which ones are you compelled to pray for over our school communities and possibly over yourself and family?
·Do you need to ask for forgiveness for our schools, family, state and nation?
